ricsson, one of the telecom giants, has updated its estimates regarding the number of 5G subscribers. Although the spread of 5G in Europe slows down in the pandemic period, the figures so far are quite high compared to the LTE debut.
In Ericsson’s Mobility Report, the number of 5G subscribers at the end of this year will be around 190 million. According to the report, the biggest reason for this rapid rise is the fast spread of China’s 5G technology across the country and the rapid launch of 5G phones. Worldwide, the number of subscribers at the end of 2025 is pretended as 2.8 billion.
5G spread rate will decrease in Europe and North America in 2020 and 21
The increase in China was not so effective in Europe and North America due to the pandemic, but the figures are still quite high compared to LTE access in 2009. It is even above previous estimates. Other reasons for this are the early 5G interaction and investments in China, the 5G feature phones are of Chinese origin.
According to Ericsson’s report, 30% of mobile internet worldwide will be realized over the 5G network, which is equal to 2.8 billion subscribers. The peak point of the LTE network, which is currently in use, is projected to be 2022 with 5.1 billion users. By the end of 2025, the number of LTE subscribers is estimated to be 4.4 billion.
The report includes 5G, as well as mobile phone usage statistics. In 2025, 2.5 billion more people will have phones worldwide and the number of people using mobile phones will be 7.5 billion people.
These are the latest developments regarding 5G. Technology is spreading rapidly all over the world and the question marks about how to change our lives will soon be enlightened.
